Certified Medical Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and administrative support, demonstrating proficiency in various medical settings including dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine. This role requires an individual who is compassionate, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while providing exceptional service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians and ensure accurate medication records.
• Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to maintain patient information and manage appointments.
• Provide medical administrative support including scheduling, billing, and coding (ICD coding).
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures as necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings such as outpatient clinics, emergency medicine, and inpatient care.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medication administration, and follow-up care.

Requirements

• Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS).
• Experience in dermatology, urgent care, internal medicine, or hospital settings preferred.
• Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient patient documentation.
• Ability to perform intake procedures including vital signs assessment.
• Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service and care.
• Background in geriatrics or medical-surgical units, is a plus.
