Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our busy Gastroenterology specialty clinic. The ideal candidate is committed to providing outstanding patient care, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and works collaboratively with physicians and staff to deliver high-quality care to patients with gastrointestinal conditions.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication lists.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during office visits.
• Assist physicians and providers with office-based gastroenterology procedures, ensuring patient comfort, proper preparation, and maintenance of a sterile environment.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).
• Schedule appointments and coordinate patient follow-up care.
• Clean, stock, and prepare exam rooms and medical equipment.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, procedure preparation, and preventive care.
• Follow infection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety protocols.
• Cross-train to perform administrative and front desk duties, including patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones, as needed.
• Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred.
• Gastroenterology experience is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Professional, dependable, and patient-focused with a positive attitude.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• Day shift
• Occasional weekend coverage may be required.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
