Certified Medical Assistant

Overview

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you’ll support clinicians and help patients feel informed and cared for throughout their visit. You’ll combine hands-on patient care with accurate medical administrative support, keeping clinical workflows and records organized.

Your impact: By completing careful intake, documenting visits, and supporting timely care, you help clinicians make informed decisions and patients navigate their appointments with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, gather intake information, record vital signs, and update medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Assist with examinations and procedures; perform phlebotomy and medication administration within your training and applicable requirements.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation, support ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding, and help manage electronic health records.
• Coordinate patient service and medical office tasks, including scheduling, records, and communication with the care team.
• Follow clinical safety and privacy procedures while supporting efficient daily operations.

Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant credential and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Medical assisting experience, medical office experience, or related patient care background; hospital experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
• Familiarity with EMR (electronic medical record) and EHR systems, phlebotomy, vital signs, and medical records.
• Experience in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, inpatient care, or the operating room (OR) is welcome. Medical office management experience is also a plus.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.34 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
