Certified Medication Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our dynamic Knollwood Healthcare team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in nursing homes/ assisted living environments and a strong understanding of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. This role is essential in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents while adhering to all regulatory and safety standards.

Duties

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any significant changes to nursing staff.
• Provide catheter care and assist residents with personal hygiene as needed.
• Assist in memory care activities, promoting cognitive engagement for residents.
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and resident care in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and medical office personnel to ensure comprehensive care for all residents.
• Support residents with daily living activities while fostering independence and dignity.
• Participate in training sessions and continuing education to stay current on best practices in medication administration and resident care.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Medication Aide or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working in assisted living or similar environments is preferred.
• Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, catheter care, and medication administration protocols.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities and memory care needs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem, PRN

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
