Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and transfer methods
• Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
• Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while managing medical documentation and records
• Provide emotional support and effective communication tailored to patients’ needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or in hospice or memory care settings
• Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, aseptic techniques, and basic life support (BLS) when required
• Ensure safe manual handling practices during patient transfers and heavy lifting tasks in accordance with safety protocols
• Collaborate seamlessly with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient service across inpatient, outpatient, long-term care facilities, or home care environments

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state requirements
• Experience working with geriatric patients or in long-term care facilities preferred
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks/Cerner) and medical terminology for accurate documentation
• Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and safe lifting practices
• Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and understand physiology fundamentals
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and multidisciplinary teams
• Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or hospice care are advantageous
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, and perform manual handling tasks confidently

Pay: $23.67 - $28.51 per hour
