Job Summary

Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe handling techniques like Hoyer lifts and manual transfer methods
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to support ongoing patient assessment
• Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical documentation
• Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments; including engaging in memory care activities
• Support patients with complex needs in critical care environments like ICU or trauma centers, utilizing aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
• Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care or phlebotomy when trained and authorized to do so
• Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient service across inpatient, outpatient, or home & community care settings

Requirements

• Valid CNA certification from an accredited program with current licensure in the state of practice
• Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring hospice or palliative care
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and record keeping
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification required
• Prior experience in settings such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home health agencies is highly desirable
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safe lifting practices during patient transfers or manual handling tasks
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients and team members while demonstrating caregiver compassion and professionalism

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
