Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
• Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks such as catheter care, wound care, or basic life support (BLS) techniques.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while documenting care activities and updating medical records efficiently.
• Use safe manual handling practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts to transfer patients safely while preventing injury.
• Monitor patients’ condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff using clear communication methods tailored for caregiving environments.
• Follow aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure compliance with infection control protocols across diverse clinical settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, or long-term care facilities.

Experience

• Prior experience working with geriatric patients or in senior care environments is highly valued.
• Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation.
• Experience providing patient transfer methods using proper equipment and safe lifting practices.
• Background in medical-surgical units, hospice care, or acute care settings like Level I Trauma Centers enhances your ability to adapt quickly to varying patient needs.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and specialized areas such as dementia care or Alzheimer's support is advantageous.
• Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges demonstrates your versatility in delivering personalized patient service across outpatient, inpatient, or community-based settings.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
