Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals across various settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, and home care environments. As a CNA, you will work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure every patient receives attentive and respectful care tailored to their unique needs.

Duties

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, accurately documenting all findings in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems).
• Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks like catheter care, wound care, or basic life support (BLS) as directed by nursing staff.
• Maintain a safe environment by practicing proper manual handling techniques and using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure clear understanding of care plans and patient needs.
• Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) recognized by the state or relevant licensing authority.
• Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring dementia or memory care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic nursing procedures such as medication administration and vital signs measurement.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), EMR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is highly preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safe lifting practices during patient transfers or manual handling tasks.
• Strong caregiver communication skills coupled with a compassionate attitude towards patients’ physical and emotional needs.
• Prior experience in hospital medicine, long-term care facilities, hospice care, ICU or trauma center environments is advantageous.
• Certification in CPR/BLS and understanding of HIPAA compliance are required for maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.

Pay: $13.00 - $21.40 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
