Certified Nursing Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts.
• Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions, reporting any changes or concerns to nursing staff promptly.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
• Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments, including memory care activities.
• Assist in medical procedures such as phlebotomy or catheter care when trained and authorized.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in settings like hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home care environments to deliver comprehensive patient service.
• Utilize proper manual handling techniques and safe lifting practices during patient transfers and mobility assistance.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program; additional certifications such as CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) are preferred.
• Experience working with diverse populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring hospice or ICU care.
• Familiarity with PCC systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for medical documentation and record management.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices relevant to acute and long-term care settings.
• Prior experience in medical-surgical units, emergency medicine environments, or specialty areas like pediatrics or geriatrics is advantageous.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and execute patient transfer methods efficiently while maintaining patient dignity and comfort.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members in a respectful manner.
