Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to enhance their comfort and independence.
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting healthcare professionals with tasks like catheter care, phlebotomy, and medication administration under supervision.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
• Document patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Operate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts safely to prevent injury during repositioning or transfers.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide updates on patient status and respond compassionately to needs.

Experience

• Prior experience working as a CNA or in a similar caregiving role within long-term care facilities, hospitals, or home care settings is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) procedures such as CPR.
• Experience using EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for documentation and patient record management.
• Familiarity with specialized care environments including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, ICU settings, trauma centers (Level I & II), pediatric units (PICU), or post-acute care is advantageous.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while practicing safe lifting techniques during patient transfers or heavy lifting activities.
• Knowledge of infection prevention practices including aseptic technique and working with infectious disease protocols.
• Strong caregiver communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages—including geriatric patients—and those with disabilities or developmental challenges.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
