As an Avodah CNA, you will provide personalized, non-medical support that helps clients maintain their independence, safety, comfort, and quality of life. You will work directly with clients in their homes, developing trusting relationships while providing dependable assistance with their daily needs.

Duties

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to clients in their homes
• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Assist with mobility, ambulation, transfers, repositioning, and other activities while following safe body mechanics and transfer techniques
• Provide assistance with meals, meal preparation, hydration, and other daily routines as outlined in the client's plan of care
• Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction while encouraging client independence
• Assist clients with maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment
• Provide medication reminders and other permitted support in accordance with the client's care plan, agency policies, and applicable regulations
• Observe and promptly report changes in a client's physical, emotional, or behavioral condition to the appropriate Avodah supervisor
• Support clients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, mobility limitations, developmental disabilities, chronic conditions, and other care needs within the scope of the position
• Follow individualized plans of care and communicate important client needs to the Avodah care team
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided
• Protect client privacy and maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies
• Demonstrate professionalism and respect while working in each client's home
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, supervisors, and other members of the care team
• Follow infection-control, safety, emergency, and agency procedures
• Promote client dignity, independence, choice, and quality of life in every interaction

Skills

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in North Carolina
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to caregiving
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build trusting and professional relationships with clients and their families
• Dependable, punctual, and responsible work ethic
• Ability to work independently while following an individualized plan of care
• Ability to recognize and appropriately report changes in a client's condition
• Understanding of client confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
• Knowledge of proper infection-control and hand-hygiene practices
• Ability to safely assist with transfers, mobility, and positioning; experience with equipment such as Hoyer lifts is a plus
• Comfortable providing personal care while maintaining client dignity and privacy
• Ability to document care accurately using required agency systems
• Reliable transportation to travel to clients' homes
• Previous home-care, senior-care, dementia-care, hospice, or personal-care experience is preferred
• CPR/BLS certification is preferred or required based on the position and agency requirements
