Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using proper manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, accurately documenting all patient information within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support clinical staff by preparing patients for examinations or procedures, maintaining sterile environments through aseptic techniques, and assisting with medical documentation.
• Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease, ensuring their safety and comfort through memory care strategies.
• Administer medications as directed by licensed healthcare providers while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist with patient transfers using appropriate methods and equipment to ensure safe movement within the facility or between departments.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in diverse settings including hospital medicine, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and home care environments.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations.
• Experience working with geriatric patients and familiarity with senior care practices.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification.
• Prior experience in medical-surgical units, long-term care facilities, hospice care, or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safe lifting practices during patient transfers or manual handling tasks.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and coordinate with healthcare teams.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR/Epic/Cerner systems) for accurate documentation of patient care activities.

Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour
