Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support clinical procedures such as catheter care, wound care, and basic medication administration under supervision.
• Maintain patient safety by utilizing proper manual handling techniques, safe lifting practices, and equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer devices.
• Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to observe changes in patient condition, report concerns promptly, and assist with patient transfers using appropriate methods.
• Provide emotional support and effective communication to patients with diverse needs, including those with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient care.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks/Cerner) systems for accurate documentation.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and manual handling while following safety protocols.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages—including pediatric and geriatric populations—and multidisciplinary teams.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire; CPR certification is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated sensitivity when working with individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges or memory impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
