Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caretaker to provide essential support and care for residents in a nursing home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of resident rights, memory care practices, and adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Duties

• Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Provide memory care support to residents with cognitive impairments, ensuring their needs are met compassionately.
• Observe and document patient behavior and health status to report any changes to nursing staff.
• Prepare and cook nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences of residents.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties in resident areas.
• Uphold resident rights by treating each individual with dignity and respect while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
• Assist in lifting and transferring residents safely using proper techniques to prevent injury.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a caregiving role, preferably in a nursing home or similar environment.
• Knowledge of memory care practices is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to lift and assist residents as needed while following safety protocols.
• Understanding of patient observation techniques and the importance of accurate documentation.
• Familiarity with resident rights and commitment to upholding them at all times.
• Basic cooking skills for meal preparation that meets dietary needs of residents.
