Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and transfer methods
• Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates
• Support patient safety by maintaining infection control standards and practicing aseptic techniques during care procedures
• Document patient information and care activities thoroughly in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Provide emotional support and effective communication to patients and their families, fostering trust and reassurance
• Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration under supervision, and basic phlebotomy when qualified
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in diverse settings including long-term care facilities, hospitals (ICU, trauma centers), outpatient clinics, hospice, or home care environments
• Ensure safe patient transfers using appropriate methods and equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices and manual handling protocols
• Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's care, behavioral health challenges, or developmental disabilities
• Maintain cleanliness of patient areas and ensure all equipment is sanitized according to infection control standards

Experience

• Prior experience working as a CNA or in a healthcare setting such as long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), assisted living communities, or home health environments is highly preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms
• Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with chronic conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease is advantageous
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification is required
• Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods and safe lifting techniques using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer boards is essential
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations including pediatrics and behavioral health patients
• Familiarity with infection control practices including aseptic technique and infectious disease care protocols enhances your candidacy
