Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using appropriate patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support clinical teams by preparing patients for procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques during care, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
• Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral support.
• Administer medications and perform basic medical tasks such as catheter care, phlebotomy (blood draws), and wound dressing under supervision.
• Document patient information thoroughly in medical documentation systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Assist with patient transfers using safe lifting practices and manual handling techniques to ensure safety for both patients and staff.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals—including ICU, trauma centers, pediatric units (PICU), emergency medicine departments—and outpatient clinics.
• Support home & community care initiatives by providing compassionate caregiving in patients’ homes or assisted living environments.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current state licensure or registration.
• Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized dementia or memory care.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks/Cerner) systems for accurate medical documentation.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (CPR).
• Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques; experience with Hoyer lifts preferred.
• Familiarity with infection control practices such as aseptic technique and handling infectious disease cases.
• Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with healthcare teams and caregivers while providing patient-centered service.
• Prior experience in hospital medicine, medical-surgical units, urgent care settings, or long-term care facilities is highly desirable.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
