Certified Nursing Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
• Support patient transfer methods safely, utilizing appropriate patient transfer techniques and equipment to prevent injury.
• Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians, including catheter care, wound care, and medication administration following HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality.
• Observe patients closely for changes in condition or behavior, especially in specialized areas such as dementia care, memory care, or behavioral health units.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in compliance with hospital or long-term care facility standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient service and support continuity of care.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program.
• Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS/CPR).
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and safe manual handling practices to assist patients with mobility or transfers.
• Strong caregiver communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient-centered care.
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical setting.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
