Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document findings accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Support medical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting healthcare professionals during treatments like phlebotomy or catheter care.
• Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, ensuring their safety and comfort through memory care techniques.
• Help coordinate patient care plans by documenting medical records and notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
• Support emergency response efforts in Level I Trauma Centers or ICU settings by applying basic life support (BLS) skills and assisting with acute or urgent care needs.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in diverse environments such as assisted living facilities, hospitals, or home & community care settings to ensure comprehensive patient service.

Skills

• Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs; familiarity with dementia or Alzheimer's care preferred.
• Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for medical documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to perform medical-surgical tasks such as medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and catheter care.
• Experience in various healthcare environments including hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, or post-acute care facilities.
• Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy to support patient assessments and procedures across pediatric to geriatric populations.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure settings such as Level II trauma centers or ICU units; experience with infectious disease care is a plus.
• Excellent caregiving skills combined with knowledge of aseptic techniques to prevent infection transmission during patient interactions.
• Familiarity with mobility equipment like Hoyer lifts and the safe handling of patients requiring assistance with mobility or transfers.
