Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe handling techniques like Hoyer lifts and manual handling practices.
• Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
• Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments by implementing tailored memory care strategies.
• Help with patient transfers using appropriate transfer methods and equipment to ensure safety for both patients and staff.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care or wound management.
• Document patient observations and care activities thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR/Epic systems) to support seamless communication among healthcare teams.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, or behavioral health to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
• Support patients in home care or community settings by providing compassionate caregiving that respects individual needs and preferences.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program; current state licensure required.
• Experience working with diverse populations including long-term care residents, geriatric patients, pediatric or behavioral health clients preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (CPR) certification required.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safe lifting practices; manual handling skills essential.
• Strong communication skills for caregiving roles involving patient interaction and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or ICU units; critical care experience is advantageous.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations; excellent attention to detail for accurate medical records management.
