Certified Nursing Assistant - PRN

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team on a PRN (as-needed) basis. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, personalized care to our residents and patients, supporting their daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. Duties

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, ensuring accurate medical documentation
• Support medication administration under the supervision of nursing staff, following proper aseptic techniques and HIPAA guidelines
• Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, ensuring their safety and comfort in memory care settings
• Assist with patient transfers and positioning using appropriate techniques for safety and comfort in various care environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities
• Maintain infection control standards by practicing proper hand hygiene, using PPE (personal protective equipment), and adhering to aseptic techniques during patient interactions
• Document patient care activities accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner

Requirements

• Valid CNA certification with current state licensure or registration
• Prior experience working in long-term care, assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), or home care settings
• Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic anatomy and physiology
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Epic is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting with Hoyer lifts and assisting with patient mobility
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide compassionate patient service
