What they need
Are you a new graduate ready to begin your career in a supportive, team-focused environment?
Or are you an experienced COTA looking for a collaborative workplace where you can continue learning, growing, and doing meaningful work?
At NK Speech Therapy and Behavior Support PLLC, we believe great clinicians grow through support, collaboration, and hands-on experience. We are seeking a team-oriented Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who is passionate about working with children, eager to learn, receptive to feedback, and excited to be part of a multidisciplinary team.
We take a whole-person approach to therapy and recognize that the best outcomes happen when professionals work together. As a COTA on our team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, families, educators, and other professionals while strengthening your clinical skills and building confidence in your practice.
Our services include home health, clinic-based therapy, and specialized school settings, allowing you to work with children across a variety of ages, abilities, developmental levels, and environments.
New Graduate Support
New graduates are encouraged to apply!
We know that completing an OTA program is just the first step in becoming a confident clinician. We do not expect you to have all the answers when you walk through the door.
Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where you can ask questions, learn from experienced therapists, receive constructive feedback, and develop your clinical skills over time.
We want you to feel comfortable saying:
- “I have a question.”
- “Can you show me how to do that?”
- “Can we talk through this together?”
You will receive support as you become familiar with our documentation systems, therapy procedures, treatment approaches, and everyday clinical responsibilities.
What You'll Do
As a COTA, you will:
- Assist the OTR with screenings, assessments, and Occupational Therapy services
- Provide services outlined in the documented Plan of Care under the direction and supervision of the OTR
- Implement documented IEP goals and protocols within school settings
- Monitor, track, and document client/student progress toward established goals
- Create engaging, age-appropriate, and developmentally appropriate therapy materials
- Adapt activities and materials to address individual client needs
- Provide targeted therapy to children with a variety of ages, abilities, and developmental needs
- Develop positive, trusting relationships with children and their families
- Complete timely and accurate daily documentation using electronic documentation systems
- Maintain an organized caseload and manage daily responsibilities effectively
- Assist with progress reports and the maintenance of student/client records
- Submit invoices according to the established payment schedule
- Maintain therapy materials and assist in keeping therapy spaces clean and organized
- Collaborate with OTRs, SLPs, families, teachers, and other members of the care team
- Attend team meetings and participate in professional development opportunities
- Continue expanding your knowledge and clinical skills
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensed in the State of Arizona and in good standing
- At least 18 years of age
- A new graduate or an experienced COTA — new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply!
- Interested in working with children; previous pediatric experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate
- Passionate about helping children build independence, confidence, and functional skills
- Comfortable developing positive relationships with children and their families
- A strong written and verbal communicator
- Creative, adaptable, and flexible
- Open to learning and receiving feedback
- Comfortable working as part of a collaborative team
- Positive, dependable, and ready to have fun while doing meaningful work
