Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to assist patients in achieving their therapeutic goals. This role involves providing support in a PPEC setting.

The COTA will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for patients across pediatric patients.

Duties

• Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and improve functional abilities.
• Implement treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist, ensuring adherence to care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Provide patient care in diverse settings, including inpatient and outpatient facilities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and adjust treatment strategies based on patient progress and feedback.
• Utilize medical imaging and knowledge of physiology to inform treatment approaches and enhance patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment sessions, and any changes in condition or response to therapy.
• Engage with patients and their families to educate them about therapy processes and encourage active participation in their recovery journey.

Skills

• Proficient in assisting with ADLs and understanding the unique needs of various populations, including geriatrics and pediatrics.
• Knowledgeable in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to occupational health practices.
• Experience in home health care, acute care settings, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
• Ability to develop effective care plans that align with patient goals while demonstrating strong communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with patient care protocols and best practices within occupational therapy frameworks.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases effectively while maintaining attention to detail in documentation. Job Type: Contract

Pay: $34.00 - $36.00 per hour
