Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support licensed occupational therapists in delivering high-quality care to diverse patient populations across inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, and home health settings. Responsibilities

• Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence.
• Provide pediatric occupational therapy services for children with childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder, utilizing specialized techniques.
• Help facilitate treatment sessions focused on improving motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive functions in clients of all ages.
• Conduct patient assessments, document care progress accurately, and communicate findings clearly to the healthcare team.
• Assist with patient transport within facilities or to external appointments while ensuring safety through manual handling techniques.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as physicians, speech therapists, physical therapists, caregivers, and families to optimize care strategies.
• Maintain thorough care documentation adhering to medical terminology standards and confidentiality protocols.
• Support patients in acute care environments by assisting with mobility and functional activities during recovery phases.
• Engage in home health visits when required, providing therapy services directly in patients’ living environments for personalized care delivery.

Experience

• Prior experience working as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in inpatient settings such as hospitals or skilled nursing facilities is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with outpatient clinics or pediatric clinics specializing in childhood developmental delays or autism spectrum disorder is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience supporting patients with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities across diverse age groups is essential.
• Knowledge of medical imaging procedures and familiarity with anatomy and physiology enhances your ability to support comprehensive patient care.
• Experience working with geriatric populations in geriatrics or occupational health settings is beneficial.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and caregivers while maintaining professional documentation standards is required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practices will support seamless integration into clinical workflows.

Pay: $60.00 per hour
