Job Summary

Small Steps, Giant Gains, Inc. is seeking Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants to provide home based services on the south side of Chicago and or South Suburbs of Illinois, which include treatment, for children, birth to three years old, who are participating in the Illinois Early Intervention program, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Treatment is provided in accordance with the physician’s Plan of Care, company policies and professional standards of practice to improve the quality of life. Early Intervention credential preferred. We will assist in obtaining an Early Intervention credential which is required for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans developed by Occupational Therapists
• Provide therapeutic interventions and exercises to patients to improve their motor skills, coordination, sensory integration, and daily living activities
• Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions
• Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to modify treatment plans as necessary
• Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and exercises for continued progress at home
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Skills

• Required: Current Early Intervention credential and license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Illinois; ability to implement care plans, provide patient care, communicate clearly, and maintain care documentation.
• Knowledge of occupational therapy, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology; safe manual handling and experience assisting with ADLs.
• Preferred: Experience in pediatrics and home health.
• Preferred: Experience with pediatric occupational therapy, Autism, childhood developmental delays, neurodevelopmental disorders.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
