AltiusERP is seeking an experienced Certified Odoo Functional Consultant to join our growing ERP consulting team. We specialize in helping manufacturers and distributors replace disconnected legacy systems, spreadsheets, and accounting software with modern, integrated ERP solutions.

This is a subcontract-to-hire position, with the opportunity to transition into a long-term role based on performance, client fit, and business needs. Third-party recruiters, staffing agencies, and recruiting firms will not be considered. We are only interested in direct applicants.

This role is ideal for someone who understands both Odoo and the business processes behind the software. You will work directly with clients to understand their operations, design practical solutions, configure Odoo, lead testing and training, and help organizations successfully transition to Odoo.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead functional discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with clients.
• Analyze existing manufacturing, distribution, inventory, and financial processes.
• Translate business requirements into effective Odoo configurations and workflows.
• Configure and implement Odoo applications including:
• Manufacturing (MRP)
• Inventory and Warehouse Management
• Purchase
• Sales
• Accounting and Finance
• CRM
• Quality
• Maintenance
• Design manufacturing workflows involving BOMs, work centers, routings, production orders, subcontracting, replenishment, and inventory consumption.
• Configure distribution and warehouse processes including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, replenishment, and multi-warehouse operations.
• Implement financial processes including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, fixed assets, inventory valuation, and financial reporting.
• Lead fit-gap analysis and recommend when to use standard Odoo functionality versus customization.
• Develop functional specifications for developers when extensions or integrations are required.
• Assist with master-data and opening-balance migration from legacy ERP systems, QuickBooks, spreadsheets, and other platforms.
• Develop test scenarios and coordinate user acceptance testing.
• Create user documentation and deliver end-user and administrator training.
• Support clients through cutover, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Identify opportunities to simplify business processes and improve operational efficiency using Odoo.

Required Qualifications

• Current Odoo certification or demonstrated equivalent Odoo expertise.
• 3+ years of Odoo implementation or consulting experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience implementing Odoo Manufacturing, Inventory/Distribution, and Accounting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing concepts including:
• Bills of Materials
• Routings and work centers
• Material requirements planning
• Production orders
• Make-to-stock and make-to-order environments
• Inventory costing and valuation
• Production planning and scheduling
• Strong understanding of distribution and warehouse operations.
• Solid accounting and finance knowledge, including the relationship between operational transactions, inventory, costing, and the general ledger.
• Experience leading client discovery sessions and translating operational requirements into ERP solutions.
• Experience with ERP data migration, testing, training, and go-live activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with executives, accountants, warehouse personnel, production managers, and system administrators.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing ERP systems for small and mid-sized manufacturers and distributors.
• Experience migrating companies from QuickBooks, spreadsheets, or legacy ERP platforms to Odoo.
• Experience with multi-company and multi-warehouse Odoo environments.
• Familiarity with eCommerce, shipping, EDI, barcode scanning, and third-party integrations.
• Understanding of Odoo Studio and low-code/no-code configuration.
• Ability to understand technical concepts and work effectively with Python/Odoo developers without necessarily serving as the primary developer.
• Accounting, manufacturing, supply-chain, or operations background.
• Previous ERP consulting or professional-services experience.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for more than an Odoo system administrator. The successful candidate will be a business-process consultant who happens to be an Odoo expert.

You should be comfortable walking through a manufacturing facility, understanding how material moves from receiving through production and shipping, sitting down with the accounting team to understand how those transactions affect the financial statements, and then designing an Odoo solution that connects the entire process.

You should also be comfortable challenging unnecessary complexity. At AltiusERP, our goal is not to customize Odoo simply because we can. We favor practical solutions, standard functionality where possible, and implementations that deliver measurable business value quickly.
