Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to empower individuals on their journey to recovery and wellness. In this vital role, you will serve as a compassionate guide, sharing your lived experience to inspire hope, foster resilience, and promote behavioral health. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, addiction recovery, and crisis situations with confidence and empathy. Duties

• Provide peer-led support by sharing personal recovery experiences to motivate and empower clients
• Assist individuals during crisis situations through crisis intervention and crisis management techniques
• Conduct behavioral health assessments and develop personalized recovery plans in collaboration with clinical teams
• Utilize motivational interviewing strategies to encourage positive behavioral change and goal setting
• Offer mentoring and guidance to help clients develop coping skills, social skills, and self-advocacy
• Support clients in navigating mental health counseling, addiction counseling, and social work services
• Document interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and provide holistic support during recovery processes

Qualifications

• Certified Peer Support Specialist credential from an approved certifying body
• Lived experience with mental health challenges or substance use recovery, demonstrating resilience and insight
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies
• Familiarity with behavioral health concepts, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, and social work practices
• Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate others toward positive change
• Proficiency in motivational interviewing methods to facilitate client engagement
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and case management
• Excellent communication skills, empathy, and active listening abilities
