Certified Personal Trainer

Overview

As a Certified Personal Trainer, you’ll help clients build strength, improve fitness, and work toward goals with safe, personalized coaching. You’ll assess client needs, create practical workout plans, and guide individuals and groups through effective exercise. Your impact: By adapting programs to each client’s abilities and goals, you help them exercise safely and make steady progress.

Responsibilities

• Lead personal training and group fitness sessions using sound coaching and motivational techniques.
• Create and adjust workout programs informed by anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and body mechanics.
• Demonstrate safe exercise technique, including proper manual handling and heavy lifting practices.
• Build client rapport through clear communication, attentive customer service, and ongoing progress discussions.
• Support fitness sales by explaining training options and helping clients identify services suited to their goals.

Experience

• Required: Current personal training certification and first aid and CPR credentials; ability to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) in an emergency.
• Knowledge of nutrition and program design, with the ability to apply exercise principles to varied client needs.
• Preferred: Fitness industry, health club, or gym experience; sports coaching or experience teaching physical education.
• Preferred: Experience with fitness sales, group fitness, client communication, and personalized workout plan creation.
• Maintain required liability insurance and demonstrate safe, professional coaching practices.
