Certified Pharmacy Technician

Position: Pharmacy Tech
Location: Templeton, CA & Clearlake, CA
Schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts
Shift: Day/Variable Shift – Multiple schedules available
Pay Range: $1800 to $1850 per week
Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician performs technical and non-discretionary pharmacy duties under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Responsibilities include medication preparation, dispensing, unit-dose distribution, inventory management, IV medication preparation/compounding, and supporting the hospital pharmacy department.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Pull medications from stock and match medications with the appropriate labels generated from patient profiles.
• Fill and deliver unit-dose medication cassettes to nursing units.
• Prepare IV medications/compounded products in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and pharmacy procedures.
• Maintain medication floor stock, including restocking, rotating inventory, and removing expired medications.
• Check in medication orders and deliveries from wholesalers and suppliers.
• Distribute and file pharmacy paperwork appropriately.
• Process medication returns and backorders in a timely manner.
• Assist with medication inventory and organization.
• Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Current California Pharmacy Technician license/registration – Required
• High School diploma/GED or equivalent
• Certificate of completion from a recognized Pharmacy Technician training program required for applicable position requirements
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Recent inpatient pharmacy experience preferred

Preferred / Required Experience:

Depending on the assigned schedule/position, candidates with the following experience are strongly preferred:

• IV medication preparation/IV compounding experience
• Hospital/inpatient pharmacy experience
• EPIC experience

Important: Candidates interested in positions requiring IV and EPIC experience should have hands-on experience with both.
