Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, label, and distribute medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Assist with inpatient medication orders, cart fills, and medication delivery to hospital units.
• Prepare sterile IV medications and compounded medications according to established pharmacy procedures.
• Restock medications and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Operate and replenish automated medication dispensing systems as required.
• Perform accurate medication picking, filling, packaging, and order preparation.
• Enter and process medication-related information using Meditech and pharmacy systems.
• Check medication expiration dates and assist with inventory rotation and removal of expired products.
• Follow USP, HIPAA, hospital, state, and federal pharmacy regulations and medication-safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy work environment.
• Work assigned 10-hour shifts, weekends, and required holiday coverage.
