Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding and labeling prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
• Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment, expiration checks, and proper storage procedures.
• Support patient intake processes by verifying prescription details and updating patient records with medical terminology understanding.
• Prepare and administer IV infusions following aseptic technique protocols to ensure patient safety during critical care treatments.
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering medication-related questions and coordinating medication delivery or pickup.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, LTC pharmacy standards, and regulatory requirements related to medication administration and documentation.
• Ensure meticulous record-keeping for all medication transactions, including documentation of medication administration in acute care settings.

Skills

• Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication management.
• Critical care experience or LTC pharmacy background is highly preferred to handle specialized medication needs.
• Familiarity with hospital environments, including acute care units and IV infusion procedures.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique for sterile compounding and medication preparation.
• Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate care and effective communication.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced healthcare settings while maintaining attention to detail.
