Certified Pharmacy Technician

Role Description This part-time Certified Pharmacy Technician role is an on-site position based in Newton, MA. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will support pharmacists by accurately processing prescriptions, preparing medications, and maintaining proper documentation in accordance with regulatory and company standards. Daily responsibilities include assisting customers at the pharmacy counter, answering questions within scope of practice, and ensuring a professional, empathetic, and efficient service experience. The role also involves managing inventory, restocking shelves, checking for expired products, and contributing to a safe, organized pharmacy environment. The technician will collaborate with pharmacy team members, follow standard operating procedures, and uphold CVS Pharmacy’s commitment to quality, safety, and community health.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to handle Prescription-related tasks, including processing, labeling, and verification support under pharmacist supervision.
• Knowledge of Pharmacy operations, including medication storage, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience working as or with Pharmacy Technicians, with a strong understanding of workflow in a retail pharmacy setting.
• Skills in Inventory Control, including tracking stock levels, rotating products, and maintaining accurate records.
• Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, resolve issues professionally, and support diverse patients and customers.
• Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential and state pharmacy technician registration/licensure as required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, counting, and documentation; comfortable using pharmacy software systems and point-of-sale technology.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move products, and work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Prior experience in a retail or healthcare environment preferred; familiarity with insurance processing and third-party billing is beneficial.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, patient privacy, and adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
