Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing DSM-5 criteria to determine client needs and co-occurring disorders.
• Deliver individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy techniques.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation protocols.
• Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support to clients experiencing acute mental health or substance use crises, ensuring safety and stabilization.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management, discharge planning, and community or home-based care services tailored to diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using EMR/EHR systems, documenting patient care activities, progress notes, and medical records in accordance with clinical standards.
• Engage in ongoing research and data collection efforts to monitor treatment outcomes, improve clinical practices, and support evidence-based addiction medicine initiatives.

Skills

• Extensive experience in psychotherapy, addiction counseling, mental health counseling, and behavioral health interventions.
• Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and promote behavioral change.
• Strong background in child & family counseling, crisis intervention, and working with individuals with co-occurring disorders.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
• Skilled in client assessment in therapy settings, case management, and applying behavioral management strategies.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems (EMR/EHR), HIPAA compliance, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds while delivering culturally sensitive care.
• Experience working within hospital or community care environments with a focus on mental health, PTSD care, addiction medicine, and home & community care experience.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction, documentation accuracy, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
