Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic surgical team. Your expertise will support surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff by preparing operating rooms, handling surgical instruments, and maintaining sterile environments. Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and organizing surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for upcoming procedures.
• Assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools with precision.
• Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
• Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses during procedures to support optimal patient safety.
• Operate medical equipment such as endoscopy devices, anesthesia machines, and other specialized tools with expertise.
• Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures, patient records, and equipment sterilization logs within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or similar platforms.
• Support trauma care, orthopedic surgeries, neurosurgery assistance, cardiovascular procedures, and pediatric surgeries as needed.
• Assist in the treatment of fractures and perform suturing with proficiency while demonstrating strong anatomy knowledge.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, critical care units including ICU and PICU environments, as well as ambulatory surgery centers.

Requirements

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program is required; current certification must be maintained throughout employment.
• Proven experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers with exposure to emergency medicine and acute care settings.
• Demonstrated proficiency in handling surgical instruments, medical equipment sterilization, and aseptic techniques.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and infection prevention protocols.
• Experience assisting in orthopedic surgery, cardiovascular surgery assistance, neurosurgery support, endoscopy procedures, and pediatrics preferred.
• Ability to perform data collection related to patient care metrics and analyze clinical information accurately.
• Familiarity with hospital information systems such as EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or EHR platforms is essential.
• Excellent patient care skills with a focus on safety, attention to detail, and teamwork within high-pressure environments such as trauma or emergency settings.
