Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Duties

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and in working order.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure, following aseptic technique guidelines.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other team members by providing necessary instruments and supplies in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
• Experience working in a surgical setting, preferably with a focus on pediatrics.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Excellent understanding of aseptic technique and infection control practices.
• Ability to analyze complex situations and make quick decisions in high-pressure environments.
• Familiarity with various surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to surgical procedures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
