Job Overview:
We are seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician at Colfax Animal Hospital. We are a small animal, rural practice looking to add a member to our team who shares a similar passion for animal health, client relations, and veterinary medicine.

As a Veterinary Technician with Colfax Animal Hospital, you will use your knowledge of veterinary medicine for both patient and client care. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting veterinarians in the exam room and in surgical/dental procedures, performing diagnostic procedures, and managing patient care and treatments. Our practice values client relationships and education. We are looking for someone interested in creating relationships with our clients, focusing on client education and using effective and compassionate communication skills. The technical skills, ability to work as a team member, attention to detail, and interest in client communication will make for a great addition to our clinic.

Pay is dependent on experience.

Qualifications:

-Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with current licensure in Wisconsin

Duties

• Implement treatment plans prescribed by veterinarians
• Monitor and perform anesthesia
• Assist veterinarians in providing restraint and medical care to animals
• Perform various in-house laboratory testing and prepare specimens for outside laboratories
• Calculate and administer medications
• Take and position patients for radiographs
• Provide attentive, high-quality patient care
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Assist with the intake of animals, ensuring accurate record-keeping with our computer software system
• Work well in a team
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-visit care to ensure excellent client communication

Hours

Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 AM- 4 PM. No afterhours or weekends required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
