What they need
Role & responsibilities
ROLE:
A CFD Analysis Engineer to model and simulate airflow, temperature and contaminant distribution in pharmaceutical cleanrooms, production halls, weld shops and other industrial spaces. The role takes each study from HVAC drawings and heat-load data through geometry, meshing, solving and post-processing to a clear, client-ready report with design recommendations - such as repositioning supply diffusers and return risers to remove hot spots or dead zones - working closely with our HVAC design team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Case set-up: Build CFD models of rooms and buildings from AutoCAD / MEP layouts - room geometry, equipment blockages, HEPA / diffuser supplies, return risers, exhausts and heat sources - and define boundary conditions from the HVAC schedule.
- Meshing: Generate good-quality meshes (structured / hex-dominant / polyhedral) with appropriate refinement around inlets, outlets and equipment; carry out mesh independence checks.
- Simulation: Run steady and transient RANS simulations of internal airflow and heat transfer, including buoyancy-driven flow, thermal stratification and species / particle transport for contamination and fume studies.
- Convergence & validation: Monitor residuals, mass and energy balance and probe points; validate results against hand calculations, design data or site measurements.
- Post-processing: Produce velocity and temperature contours, streamlines, vector plots, air-change and age-of-air maps, and quantitative zone-wise results.
- Design optimization: Compare design iterations and recommend changes to supply / return layout, air quantities and equipment arrangement to meet temperature, velocity and cleanliness criteria.
- Reporting: Prepare clear technical reports and presentations for clients, including before / after comparisons and compliance against project requirements.
- HVAC support: Support the HVAC team with heat-load, airflow-balance and ventilation calculations, and feed CFD findings back into the design drawings.
- Process & automation: Maintain case templates, scripts and checklists to make studies faster, repeatable and consistent.
- Site support: Attend site surveys and commissioning where required to collect data and verify CFD predictions.
Preferred candidate profile
- CFD experience on pharmaceutical cleanrooms, data centres, industrial ventilation or thermal comfort studies.
- Familiarity with ISO 14644, EU GMP Annex 1, ASHRAE and ISHRAE guidelines.
- Experience with particle tracking, smoke / fume extraction or fire-and-smoke studies.
- Exposure to HPC / parallel runs and large-mesh simulations.
- Published work, thesis or portfolio of CFD projects
Perks and benefits
- Real-world CFD projects for reputed pharmaceutical, automotive and industrial clients.
- Close work with HVAC design and 3D-modelling teams - see your analysis shape the final design.
- Competitive compensation and performance-linked growth.
- Supportive team, mentoring and opportunities to grow into a lead role.
