Job Title: CFO & Head of Strategy

Location: Enugu (Applicants from other states are welcome to apply, provided they are willing to relocate.)

We are hiring a CFO & Head of Strategy for a recently acquired microfinance bank undergoing an exciting phase of accelerated growth and digital transformation. This is a dual-mandate executive role.

You will own both financial stewardship and strategic leadership, sitting at the heart of the bank's evolution into a digitally-driven, nationally licensed institution.

You'll report directly to the MD/CEO and work alongside the Board and Executive Committee to drive sustainable growth, regulatory excellence, and a bold digital agenda.

What You'll Do:

• Drive digital transformation across lending, mobile banking, agent banking, and fintech partnerships
• Own budgeting, forecasting, IFRS-compliant financial reporting, and Board-level financial packs
• Monitor P&L, balance sheet, liquidity, capital adequacy, and profitability — and act on the numbers
• Manage treasury, ALM, and funding strategy; lead capital-raising with DFIs, investors, and lenders
• Oversee enterprise risk management covering credit, market, liquidity, and digital channel risks
• Ensure full regulatory compliance — CBN, NDIC, FIRS — including the roadmap to a National MFB license
• Define unit economics, pricing, and profitability models for digital products (nano loans, digital savings, agency banking)
• Build and lead a high-performing Finance & Strategy team

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• ICAN or ACCA certification is mandatory, MBA or Master's in Finance/Strategy is a plus
• 10–15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (CFO, Head of Finance, Head of Strategy, or equivalent)
• Background in microfinance, commercial banking, digital banking, or fintech
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, CBN microfinance guidelines, and Nigerian financial regulations
• Experience with digital credit scoring, API-based integrations, and alternative data is an advantage
• Proficiency with core banking systems, MIS, and BI/financial reporting tools
• Strong stakeholder management skills: Board, regulators, investors, and partners
• High integrity, sharp commercial judgment, and a genuine commitment to financial inclusion
