Mō te tūnga | About the role

New Zealand Police continues to position itself as an effective, innovative, efficient, and modern policing service, setting a benchmark for others to follow. To support this vision, we are looking for high-performing professionals to join our Delivery Capability team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team responsible for delivering business-led change and transformative programmes of work across New Zealand Police. Our work enables the organisation to adapt, improve, and deliver better outcomes for our frontline staff and the communities they serve.

Based at Police National Headquarters on Molesworth Street, Wellington, the Delivery Capability team is made up of experienced and passionate Programme and Project Managers, Coordinators, Business Analysts & Service Designers, and Change professionals. We partner with a wide range of business groups across Police, and externally, to successfully deliver strategic initiatives, organisational change, and complex programmes of work.

If you are motivated by meaningful work, enjoy collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and want to contribute to the future of policing in New Zealand, we would love to hear from you.

As a Change Analyst, you will support the successful delivery of change initiatives by assessing how proposed changes impact people, processes, and ways of working. Working alongside Change Managers, project teams, and business stakeholders, you will undertake change analysis, contribute to change planning, help drive adoption and business readiness through change impact assessments, communications, training, documentation, and go-live support, ensuring staff and customers are well prepared and supported to adopt new ways of working.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of change strategies by creating clear change visions, change plans, and roadmaps that define the future state and activities required to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Assess and manage change impacts by conducting impact assessments to identify effects on people, processes, systems, and stakeholders, and informing mitigation strategies.
  • Engage and support stakeholders by identifying target audiences, building effective relationships, and proactively managing stakeholder issues, risks, and concerns.
  • Analyse and communicate insights by interpreting data and information, identifying key findings, and developing clear communications, presentations, and supporting materials for diverse audiences.
  • Coordinate and deliver change activities for small to medium initiatives including communications, training support, guidance materials, workshops, website updates, and other business readiness activities.
  • Monitor readiness and measure success by developing readiness assessments, evaluating adoption and change effectiveness, and recommending improvements to achieve intended outcomes.
  • Collaborate and contribute to high-performing teams by fostering positive working relationships, supporting colleagues, demonstrating organisational values, and taking accountability for continuous professional development.
  • Provide professional change support and advice by responding to requests in a timely manner, supporting senior change practitioners on larger transformation programmes, and partnering with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver successful change outcomes.

He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bring

Whilst we are looking for skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the role, we also place high importance on your state of mind, the alignment of your values with ours, your ability to contribute to and build high performing teams, and the way that you lead yourself or others.
