Job Summary

DreamCharacters is seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and dependable performers to bring beloved characters to life. The ideal candidate enjoys entertaining children, engaging with families, and creating magical experiences through character acting, dancing, posing for photos, and interactive activities.

As a DreamCharacters Performer, you will represent our company with professionalism, creativity, and a positive attitude while making every event memorable.

Responsibilities

• Portray assigned characters while maintaining their personality, mannerisms, and overall presentation.
• Interact with children and families in a fun, friendly, and engaging manner.
• Participate in birthday parties, special events, meet-and-greets, photo opportunities, games, dancing, and other entertainment activities.
• Arrive on time and prepared for each scheduled event.
• Maintain the cleanliness and proper care of costumes and performance materials.
• Follow event instructions, performance guidelines, and company policies.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for guests of all ages.
• Communicate professionally with clients, parents, event coordinators, and team members.
• Maintain character integrity and stay in character throughout appearances whenever possible.

Qualifications

• Outgoing, friendly, and comfortable performing in front of groups.
• Enjoy working with children and families.
• Strong communication, improvisation, and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Able to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfortable wearing character costumes, which may be warm or physically demanding.
• Able to stand, walk, dance, and move for extended periods as required by the event.
• Previous experience in acting, theater, dance, cosplay, mascot performance, or children's entertainment is a plus, but not required.

Additional Requirements

• Reliable transportation to scheduled events.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and some holidays.
• Willingness to attend training and character rehearsals.
• Must follow all company safety procedures and event expectations.

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour

• 1. Location

Where are you currently located? Our home base is in Whittier, CA, and we prefer performers to be located within a 15-mile radius. Please note that performers are required to pick up and return costumes from our Whittier location on a weekly basis. Costume pickup and drop-off are unpaid; however, performers are compensated for events worked and receive paid mileage for events.

• 2. Transportation

Are you fully mobile and do you have access to a reliable vehicle? A personal vehicle is required for this position, as performers must transport costumes and supplies from our home base to event locations and back.
