Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Charge Coder to join our healthcare billing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately translating medical documentation into standardized codes used for billing, reimbursement, and statistical purposes. Your expertise will ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory standards, contributing to a seamless revenue cycle process. Responsibilities

• Processing paper and electronic fee tickets
• Applying appropriate modifiers and/or CPT coding for codes subject to CCI Edits
• Reviewing supporting chart documentation
• Processing claim recodes and claim rejections
• Transmitting clean claims through our claims clearinghouse provider
• Reconciling PODIS Retina drug reports
• Perform MD audits
• Ability to meet daily and monthly work goals and/or deadlines

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical billing and coding, with a strong focus on outpatient coding environments.
• Proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding systems, as well as HCPCS and DRG classifications.
• Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical coding software tools.
• Familiarity with the guidelines established by CMS for accurate billing practices.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
• Experience with medical record abstraction and revenue cycle management processes.
• Ability to interpret complex clinical documentation accurately while adhering to coding compliance standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or within a team environment.

Pay: $19.60 - $23.00 per hour
