CHARGEMAN A4

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chargeman A4 on a contract basis. responsible for overseeing electrical works and ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality specifications, and project timelines. Based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, this role is critical to the successful delivery of our engineering projects and plays a vital part in maintaining our reputation for excellence in construction and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and perform electrical installation works on site, ensuring compliance with technical drawings and specifications
• Monitor the work of electrical technicians and labourers, providing guidance and instruction to maintain high standards of workmanship
• Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure all team members adhere to health, safety and environmental (HSE) regulations
• Inspect electrical installations and systems to verify quality and identify any defects or non-conformances
• Manage materials and equipment resources on site, minimising waste and ensuring efficient use of resources
• Liaise with project managers, engineers and other site personnel to coordinate activities and resolve technical issues
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, timesheets, and incident reports
• Perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment
• Ensure site cleanliness and proper housekeeping standards are maintained at all times

What we're looking for

• Recognised qualification or certification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent trade qualification
• The Chargeman shall be registered under the Company in the ECOS and CIDB systems and shall be designated as the Company's registered competent personnel
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in electrical installation and supervisory work on construction projects
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, circuitry, and related equipment
• Strong understanding of relevant electrical codes, standards and safety regulations
• Demonstrated experience in supervising and training technical staff
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical specifications
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within Sabah as required
• Familiarity with HSE practices and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
• Preference for candidates with experience in commercial or residential construction projects in Malaysia
