About the role

Monitor and operate the building's electrical systems, including LV switchboards, electrical distribution systems, generators, UPS and other related equipment. Act as the first responder for electrical and facility-related complaints during shifts, conducting initial checking, basic troubleshooting and assessment of reported faults. Carry out minor electrical rectification works within the scope of competency and authorisation, and assist the Maintenance Team in troubleshooting and rectification works for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and other building services.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the building's electrical systems, including LV switchboards, electrical distribution systems, generators, UPS and other related equipment
• Conduct routine inspection and monitoring of electrical equipment and plant rooms during assigned shifts
• Record equipment readings, operating conditions and abnormalities identified during routine inspections
• Act as the first responder for electrical and facility-related complaints received during the shift
• Carry out initial checking, basic troubleshooting and assessment of reported faults or abnormalities
• Carry out minor electrical rectification works within the scope of competency and authorisation
• Assist the Maintenance Team in troubleshooting and rectification works for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and other building services
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, alarms, electrical faults and building emergencies during the assigned shift
• Conduct scheduled inspections of electrical rooms, plant rooms and building facilities
• Maintain accurate records of equipment readings, inspections, breakdowns, rectification works and shift activities

About you

• Ensure electrical systems are operated safely and in accordance with approved procedures and statutory requirements
• Follow proper electrical isolation, lock-out/tag-out and permit-to-work procedures where applicable
• Ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times

Key Requirements

·       Valid Chargeman A4 competency certificate / certification recognised by the relevant authority.

·       Relevant experience in building facilities management, commercial buildings, high-rise buildings or similar environments will be an advantage.

·       Good knowledge of electrical systems, building services and basic troubleshooting.

·       Able to work independently during assigned shifts and respond effectively to operational issues.

·       Good communication and teamwork skills.

·       Willing to perform shift duties, including weekends and public holidays when required.

·       Physically and technically capable of carrying out routine inspections and minor rectification works.
