Chargeman A4

About the Role

We are looking for a competent and responsible Chargeman A4 to join our university campus in Pekan, Pahang. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation, maintenance and monitoring of the university's electrical systems and facilities.

This role is suitable for a technically skilled individual who is able to work independently, respond to electrical issues promptly and ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety requirements and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain the university's electrical installation and distribution systems.
• Carry out routine inspection, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and systems.
• Ensure electrical installations are operated safely and efficiently in accordance with relevant requirements.
• Monitor electrical supply, switchboards, transformers, generators and related electrical equipment.
• Attend to electrical breakdowns, faults and emergencies and take appropriate corrective action.
• Maintain proper records of electrical inspections, maintenance activities and equipment status.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors or service providers carrying out electrical works, where required.
• Ensure electrical maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with safety procedures and university requirements.
• Support campus facilities operations and respond to operational requirements when necessary.
• Report electrical defects, risks and maintenance requirements to the relevant supervisor/management.
• Perform other duties related to electrical and facilities operations as assigned.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Chargeman A4 competency certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant working experience in electrical operations, maintenance or facilities management.
• Experience in commercial, institutional, industrial or campus facilities will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, maintenance practices and electrical safety requirements.
• Able to troubleshoot electrical faults and respond effectively to breakdowns.
• Responsible, disciplined and safety-conscious.
• Able to work independently as well as coordinate with contractors and internal teams.
• Willing to work in Pekan, Pahang and attend to operational/emergency requirements when necessary.
