About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chargeman to join the engineering team at Performance Additives Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Subang Jaya, Selangor. As Chargeman, you will play a critical supervisory and technical role in overseeing electrical and electronic engineering operations, ensuring optimal performance, safety compliance, and efficient execution of maintenance and operational tasks. This position is essential to maintaining the reliability and safety standards of our electrical systems and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of electrical and electronic engineering technicians and maintenance staff on assigned shifts or projects
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and electronic components to ensure optimal functionality
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and electronic faults, implementing corrective measures and repairs as required
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and safety incidents
• Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety regulations, industry standards, and company safety policies
• Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance and minimise operational downtime
• Train and mentor junior technicians and maintenance staff on best practices and safety procedures
• Respond to emergency electrical and electronic system failures and implement temporary or permanent solutions
• Monitor electrical consumption and recommend improvements for energy efficiency
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements

What we're looking for

• Recognized electrical or electronic engineering qualification (National Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering)
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in electrical and electronic maintenance
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, circuit design, power distribution, and electronic components
• Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and relevant Malaysian electrical codes and standards
• Competence in using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and power analysers
• Excellent supervisory and communication skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team
• Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying and preventing electrical hazards
• Valid electrical license or certification as required by local regulations
