Chargeman (Low Voltage / High Voltage - A0 /A4/B0 /B4)

We are seeking an experienced and licensed Chargeman (Penjaga Jentera Elektrik) with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) certification to handle operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and supervision of electrical installations. Flexible engagement options (Full-Time, Part-Time visiting retainers, or Freelance project basis) are available depending on candidate availability and ST registration requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Operation & Inspection: Carry out regular inspection, maintenance, and operation of Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) electrical switchboards, transformers, and distribution boards.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all electrical works and maintenance routines follow safety protocols as per the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994.
• Troubleshooting & Emergency Response: Lead site Switching and troubleshooting for electrical breakdowns, power outages, trip issues, and emergency repairs.
• Logbook & Reporting: Maintain accurate site logs, maintenance records and incident reports for authority and audit reviews.
• ST Registration: Register competency certificate with ST for the designated premises (for full-time/visiting retainer roles).

Requirements

• Certification: Must possess a valid Competency Certificate as Penjaga Jentera Elektrik (Chargeman) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST):

  • Low Voltage: Category A0 / A1 / A4 (as applicable), OR
  • High Voltage: Category B0 / B1 / B4 (11kV / 33kV).

• Education: SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.

• Experience: Practical site experience in facility maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, or high-voltage switchgear operations is preferable

• Technical Skills: Sound working knowledge of HT/LV switchgears, transformers, standby generators.

• Mobility: Valid driving license with own transportation for site mobility.

Employment Engagement Terms

• Full-Time: Monthly base salary, allowances, EPF, SOCSO, Medical coverage, and overtime pay (where applicable).
• Part-Time / Visiting Retainer: Scheduled monthly site inspections, testing witness, and logbook endorsement with a flexible monthly retainer fee.
• Freelance / Call-Out: Project-based troubleshooting, temporary supply setup, or ad-hoc shutdown maintenance tasks paid per engagement.
