Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant with 2–3 years of post-qualification

experience to support litigation and assessment matters, and to manage day-to-day

statutory compliance under GST, Income Tax, and RBI/FEMA frameworks. The role requires

strong drafting and documentation discipline, the ability to liaise directly with tax and

regulatory authorities, and close coordination with the VP – Finance and the legal team on

notices, assessments, and appeals.

1. Litigation & Assessment Support

  • Assist in handling scrutiny assessments, reassessment proceedings, and notices under the Income Tax Act and GST law, including notices from the Investigation Wing / DGGI where applicable.
  • Prepare replies, submissions, adjournment letters, and supporting documentation for assessment and appellate proceedings (CIT(A), GSTAT, and equivalent forums).
  • Compile and index case records, evidence, and reconciliations required for hearings; coordinate with external counsel/consultants and accompany them for hearings as needed.
  • Track notice/order due dates, maintain a litigation tracker (case status, forum, next action, timelines), and flag exposure to the VP – Finance.
  • Support drafting of appeals, rectification applications, and rebuttals with accurate factual and legal backing.

2. GST Compliance

  • Prepare and review monthly/quarterly/annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR 9/9C) and reconcile with books and GSTR-2B/2A.
  • Manage GST refund applications, e-way bill compliance, and input tax credit reconciliation.
  • Respond to GST department queries, audits, and notices (ASMT, DRC series) within statutory timelines.

3. Income Tax Compliance

  • Prepare and review advance tax computations, TDS/TCS returns, and corporate income tax return filings.
  • Support tax audit (Form 3CD) documentation and coordinate with statutory/tax auditors.
  • Maintain lower/nil deduction certificate applications and Form 15CA/15CB coordination where relevant.

4. RBI / FEMA Compliance

  • Assist with FEMA/RBI filings and reporting relevant to cross-border transactions (e.g., FC-GPR, FLA, ODI/FDI reporting) in coordination with the VP – Finance.
  • Support documentation for cross-border remittances, ECBs, or overseas investment structuring, ensuring alignment with RBI master directions.

5. Documentation & Records Management

  • Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation for all litigation, assessment, and compliance matters (physical and digital records).
  • Standardize templates for submissions, reconciliations, and management reporting on litigation/compliance status.
  • Ensure version control and confidentiality of sensitive tax, legal, and regulatory documents.

6. General

  • Coordinate with internal finance, legal, and business teams to gather information required for filings and assessments.
  • Keep track of regulatory/legal updates (GST, Income Tax, RBI/FEMA, ROC) and assess impact on the organization.
  • Support internal and statutory audits with schedules, reconciliations, and query resolution.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong working knowledge of GST law, Income Tax Act, and RBI/FEMA regulations.
  • Prior exposure to assessment/litigation matters (departmental notices, hearings, appeal drafting) is highly preferred.
  • Excellent drafting skills for replies, submissions, and correspondence with tax/regulatory authorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word; working knowledge of accounting/compliance software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, or similar) and GST/Income Tax portals.
  • Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and organizational discipline in documentation.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with auditors, consultants, and government authorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines and work independently under supervision of the VP – Finance.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Chartered Accountant (ICAI), full-time qualification.
  • 2–3 years of post-qualification experience in industry or practice, with meaningful exposure to GST/Income Tax compliance and assessment/litigation support.
  • Prior experience in a CA firm, corporate tax/finance function, or legal-compliance team will be an advantage.

KEY INTERFACES

  • Internal: VP – Finance, Legal Team, Finance & Accounts Team
  • External: Statutory Auditors, Tax Consultants/Counsel, GST & Income Tax Department Officials, RBI/AD Bankers (as applicable)
