Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and release of struts, springs, dampers, and related components for an advanced active suspension system, using CATIA V5/V6.
• Create 2D drawing packages with GD&T and evaluate static, dynamic, structural, and thermo-mechanical performance of mechanical assemblies.
• Lead component testing and characterization, including test-method development, data analysis, suspension tuning, and vehicle-level integration.
• Coordinate engineering milestones and collaborate with Tier 1 suppliers on component designs, documentation, development activities, deliveries, and targets for cost, weight, timing, and performance.
• Support requirements, specifications, FMEAs, CAD and PLM releases, vehicle assembly, system bring-up, testing, and cross-functional engineering activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; an advanced engineering degree is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing struts, air springs, dampers, suspension systems, or related chassis components, including vehicle dynamics and tuning.
• Experience with pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems, sealing systems, electrical systems, system architecture, and vehicle or component testing.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5 or V6 and 2D engineering drawings using GD&T; familiarity with automotive component release processes and program scheduling.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and supplier-management skills; experience with an automotive OEM or major Tier 1 supplier is preferred.
