Job Summary

PLS Check Cashers is seeking a dependable, customer-focused, and detail-oriented Check Cashing Associate to support daily financial service operations. The successful candidate will assist customers with check cashing and other available services, verify transaction information, handle cash accurately, and maintain compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. The ideal applicant has strong communication skills, basic mathematical abilities, a professional attitude, and a commitment to providing efficient and reliable customer service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional assistance.
• Process check-cashing transactions accurately using approved company systems and procedures.
• Review customer identification and required documentation before completing transactions.
• Verify check details and follow established procedures for transaction approval.
• Count cash accurately and ensure customers receive the correct transaction amounts.
• Explain service options, applicable fees, and transaction requirements clearly.
• Assist customers with questions about available financial services.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and complete required documentation.
• Balance cash drawers and report discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow cash-handling, fraud-prevention, security, and loss-prevention procedures.
• Identify and escalate suspicious activity or potentially fraudulent documents according to company policy.
• Protect customer privacy and confidential financial information.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service counter.
• Support daily opening, closing, and operational procedures as assigned.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve customer concerns.
• Complete required training and stay informed about updated procedures and compliance requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in cashiering, retail, customer service, banking, or financial services is an advantage.
• Strong basic math skills and accuracy when counting money.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Good verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn transaction-processing systems.
• High level of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
• Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
• Ability to follow established procedures and applicable financial regulations.

• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Availability to work scheduled shifts, including weekends or holidays when required.
