Job Summary

The Western Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality Western cuisine while ensuring consistency, hygiene, kitchen efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The role includes menu planning support, food preparation, inventory control, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Western dishes according to company recipes and standards.
• Ensure food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control are maintained consistently.
• Handle daily mise en place and kitchen preparation works.
• Monitor freshness and quality of ingredients and food products.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Assist in menu development and creation of new dishes and promotions.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with management for ordering of ingredients and supplies.
• Minimise food wastage and maintain proper inventory control.
• Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff when required.
• Coordinate with service staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food service.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and safely operated.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Western Chef or relevant kitchen experience in Western cuisine.
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• 6 working days per week
