About the role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Casual Chef to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will support our Head Chef during peak periods, events, and weekend shifts. You must be able to adapt quickly to our menu and maintain high standards of food quality and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to venue recipes and standards
• Manage a specific kitchen section independently during service
• Complete daily prep lists (mise en place) efficiently
• Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and allergen control procedures
• Assist with receiving stock, rotating inventory and minimising wastage
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation throughout the shift and complete deep-cleaning tasks at close

About you

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a chef in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (highly regarded but not mandatory if experienced)
• Valid Food Handling / Food Safety Certificate
• Strong knowledge of kitchen safety regulations and HACCP principles
• Full availability for weekend, evening, and public holiday shifts
• Excellent communication skills and a team-player mentality
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Capable of lifting up to 25kg safely
